Introduction
By creating a ‘Secondary’ / ‘Sub’ Account against a Parent Account, the Opportunities you have will not only be shown in their own right but also allow items linked t the Parent Account to see a Global View.
This short guide will quickly begin to show you how you can create an Secondary Account and link it to your main Account and label it correctly.
How to create a Sub Account
First, click on ‘Account’, which is located towards the left of the Navigation Bar and search for the Parent Account you want to create the Sub Account for.
You can maximize the account screen by clicking on the square in the top right. In the Navigation Bar, click on Sub Accounts. This will then display all the accounts currently connected. If the Sub Account you wish to create is not displayed, click on ‘New’. Wait for the Dynamics Account screen to open, and then the Account Duplication Check screen will open up in front.
Type in the organization name and click on ‘Check Existing’.
The results from this additional search (if there are any) will be displayed below. You can use the buttons at the bottom of the screen to view more information.
If you are satisfied that the organization you’re creating is definitely unique, click on the ‘Add New Account’ button and all the data you’ve entered will be carried over to the Dynamics creation screen.
Complete the required fields (which is all that have the ‘*’ beside them). If the item you want is not displayed, you might need to contact the Service Desk and they can route the correct person to create the necessary fields.
Finally, click on the ‘Save’ button at the top of the screen!
