Though the goal is to win any opportunities that come our way, sometimes they will be lost, and it’s important to know how to handle any existing data correctly. This quick guide will begin to show you how to best do this.

What to do with the data

To ensure the reporting and system data is correct, the bid needs to be closed from within the system with an appropriate reason. Losing an opportunity can happen at any time for any reason, so it’s important to stay on top of your data so you don’t have any loose ends.

Bids can be closed at any time, no matter the stage of development.

Only through showing the lost pieces of work can you begin to decode the reasons why and begin building an analysis to strengthen your future opportunities.

Over time, your results will allow you to better understand market penetration and your competitors. From this you will be able to potentially win additional work.

How to close your lost opportunities

  • Open Dynamics and Navigate to the Opportunities screen.
  • When there, perform a search for the Opportunity you wish to open.
  • Click on the Close as Lost button.
  • Complete the relevant information.
