How could Translator help you to connect?

On the 22nd day of Advent, Translator helped me to say…
Merry Christmas in a different way!

Do you have clients from around the globe? Want to wish them well or connect in a way they’ll appreciate?

Microsoft Translator can help!

What is Microsoft Translator?

Microsoft Translator is a multilingual translation service that can translate real-time conversations, menus, street signs and more—even whilst offline. Part of the Azure Cognitive Services family, Translator can help you to take your connections further, generating text and speech translations using the Translator API. It can translate to over 100 languages and the free app can be downloaded from most app stores.

Voice Translation

One of the best things about the Translator app is its ability to translate in real-time, for two-way conversations! With your application open and recording audio, you and another can speak freely and allow the technology to bridge the gap. With split-screen translation, two participants can communicate in different languages, using the single microphone to pick up both and translate.

The microphone can also be used to translate short phrases whilst offline and display these translations on screen (with the option to listen to the audio, too).

Tap the mic to record.
See and hear your translations!

Text Translation

Translations can also be generated via written text. By simply speaking or writing, the Translator app can translate your words into any of the supported languages / dialects. In addition to this, Translator comes with a feature for multi device conversation. This makes it easy for you to create either a text or a speech conversation between multiple clients and coordinate messages sent between them.

The application also allows users to receive artificially powered translations, regardless of whether they have access to the internet or not. You can now use the application to translate the text in photos. This is done via the app’s built-in camera viewer but users are also able to upload photos directly from their library! To translate the text in photos, even when offline, you can also download offline language packs and use the camera feature to translate things like menus and street signs when abroad!

So, why not try some of these features when planning how you say Merry Christmas this year?
