Micro Office Huddle – 02.11.21

We created Micro Office Huddle to be a space where those interested in technology can come together and discuss why. It’s networking, but with a difference. This week’s session saw Claire Bristow lead a talk on the different types of Teams meetings and how they differ. We were also happy to introduce some new faces this week as we got to know everyone a little bit more!

Technology Spotlight

Every week, we take the time for one person (a volunteer) to take us through a focus area of technology. As mentioned, this week’s technology spotlight focused on the different types of Teams meetings that you can conduct and the potential benefits of each. We focused on Live events, and explained how they work from the perspective of an organiser. With Teams Live Events, you’re able to control who is shown on the screen at any time and even queue the speakers who are to follow. With Microsoft Teams, there is plenty of functionality to do more than just video call in the typical way.

404 Roundup

After the technology spotlight, there was time for attendees to ask any questions they need, or share something new that has recently caught their attention, in the 404 roundup. By coming together and sharing combined skills, we hope that someone will be able to aid you in your queries (or, at least share in your excitement!).

The next Huddle is scheduled to run on Tuesday the 9th of November 2021. Marjorie Grant will be leading the technology spotlight on Wix AI website creation! Make sure to pre-register for next week’s Huddle and join our Facebook group to stay up to date!

In the announcements on our Facebook group, we’ve set up a poll full of Technology Spotlight ideas! Feel free to add in anything else that you would like to learn some more about (or volunteer to run yourself!) and make sure to vote! We will begin to prioritise topics based on what people would like to see.
